My name is Laurie Gray and I am 55 years old. I am a wife, friend, grandmother, dog-lover,and artist.

I hope you come to the Outer Banks some time. This might interest you. We have wild horses at Carova Beach. Sometimes I take my cocker spaniel puppy there and he just loves it. I think he thinks they are really, really BIG dogs.

Oh yeah, Baby! I read Misty of Chincoteague about 20 million times as a horse-crazed girl...I think that's in Virginia, but Outer Banks aren't too far off there :)

Yes, I think of wonderful misty, wild days on the Outer Banks, like it's a place I'd love to go in winter maybe, where I could go for a cold brisk walk and then come back and sit by a warm fire watching the waves break over.

I'm sure it's a great summer place too....Ah, how great does that sound right now?!

Even though we lived in Charlotte for several years when I was a teen, we never made it out there.

I'll just have to put that on my vacation list!

Allison - I grew up in Maryland and have been to Chincoteague and Assateague Islands many times. Pretty country.

I also love the Outer Banks. Down here in Texas, I miss that country!
