the pressure to spend, spend, spend, the advertisers all vying for your dollar...the commercials of "surprise gifts" of cars, 3 carat diamond rings....it just makes me very stressed out and the fact that everyone buys into it all!

No kidding. But, it looks like we have some correction going on what with the economy the way it is. I like to think we have seen the light :)
My family has pretty much opted out though of all that. I'm trying to get rid of as much of my stuff as possible, not accumulate more. I try to enjoy the holidays in other ways and so far so good!
