So, how do we embrace this state of divine presence? How do we find that inner sacred place again where passion rages, creativity flows, and the light of our soul can radiate a mile wide? By getting in touch with the part of us that is most vulnerable. Sound crazy? Well, as all the great healers, philosophers, and wanna-be Einsteins have said, “Wherever you find the most discomfort in your life, that is the door to walk through.” Hang on; don’t pass out on me or forget to breathe! Here’s the catch. That funny little thing called “uneasiness” is actually our supreme guide toward knowing and finding our divine presence. Behind that nervous feeling is the most extraordinary force of success just waiting to explode. Seriously, truth be told, when women are spontaneously or intuitively in rhythm with who they really are (or came here to be) nothing is more powerful and inspiring. Are you feeling good yet?
Have I said that women are powerful? Yes! And never more so than beginning in their mid to late 40’s. There is truth to the statement that women do become wiser with age. Ouch, I know, I had to use that three-letter “A” bomb, but the fact remains that we do become more beautiful and astute as more of our birthdays are celebrated!
For those of you who may be feeling less clever and, perhaps disenchanted because of the changes that come along with all those birthdays, I have a solution. Actually, it’s a three-part oath that is to be made immediately upon reading this article. First, get weekly massages. Second, stop watching Nancy Grace every night of the week (you know who you are). And third, discover a spiritual path that makes your heart “open” and not “constrict.”
2008 has been predicted as being one of the most profound of any we will see in our lifetime. That’s not to scare anyone, but rather to motivate us all to find the music that makes our souls sing. It’s been my experience in working with women over the past 15 years that the single greatest barrier to a woman finding her truth or purpose is that she loses herself and ultimately gives her power away. If we go back to those cute little two words, ‘divine presence’, and we learn to access it, embody it, and share it then our world would be perceived in an entirely different manner.
Remember that divine presence exists in our ability to be the love, to receive love, and to offer this love to the world from a genuine place. That is the real source of our power and it comes from our heart. What greater joy then to be a woman in 2008!
Stay tuned, next time we’ll offer some anecdotes and remedies for how NOT to give your power away. Rebecca Hamm MA, LPC, has spent more than 16 years as a therapist, corporate trainer, and speaker.
